Travelhire operates a large fleet of company-owned BMW 5 series and (long wheelbase) BMW 7 series saloon vehicles and Mercedes Viano people carriers. All of our vehicles are brand new when purchased, replaced within three years and maintained in line with the manufacturer's specifications and guidelines. In accordance with current legislation, Travelhire vehicles are strictly non-smoking.
Travelhire vehicles are silver in colour with black leather interior and have rear climate controls and privacy glass. All are fitted with a fully-integrated GPS satellite navigation system and TrackSave global positioning system.
Complimentary WiFi is provided in each of our Tier 1 vehicles (BMW 7 series and Mercedes Vianos).
The Toyota Prius is our Environmentally Friendly, standard level vehicle. One of the most advanced hybrid vehicles on the road, it switches seamlessly between its electric motor and petrol engine giving its passengers near silent travel with ultra-low emissions. With leather interior, privacy glass, climate control, complimentary WiFi and plenty of leg room, our Prius service is the natural choice for many of our corporate account holders.
The BMW 5 Series Saloon is our executive level vehicle. It has a stylish and classical appearance and class-leading environmental credentials. Designed for maximum comfort, the rear passenger windows are tinted for privacy.
The BMW 7 Series Saloon (long wheel base) is one of the most advanced vehicles on the road today and has the compelling presence of a classical luxury saloon. Passengers will experience the most stylish and spacious of environments with the extra leg room that the long wheel base provides. The rear passenger windows are tinted allowing for privacy.
Our Mecedes Viano people carrier is the ideal choice for group bookings of between 4 and 7 passengers (not including the driver). Seating can be re-configured to a "conference-style" format on request. The rear passenger windows are tinted for privacy.
Travelhire coaches range in capacity from 16 seat mini-coaches to 53 seat Luxury and VIP coaches. All of the coaches that we provide have leather seating, are fully air-conditioned and WiFi enabled.
Travelhire's management team is fully aware that the company's day to day operations will inevitably impact the environment in a number of ways. Our BMW 5 series (119g/km) and BMW 7 series (148g/km) saloon vehicles are class leading in their Co2 emissions. They also have revised engine configurations that in terms of economy and emissions perform significantly above their key competitors Jaguar, Mercedes Benz and Audi.
Travelhire was the only chauffeured car service in the United Kingdom to test drive the hydrogen powered BMW 7 series concept vehicle that operates with zero emissions - the only by-product being water.
Our in-house Chauffeur Training Programme specifically highlights efficient driving techniques that are designed to reduce fuel consuption and overall emissions. Our research shows that we achieve savings of more than 10% in fuel consumption and Co2 emissions through the promotion of these techniques.
In conjunction with The Carbon Neutral Company, we offset 100% of our carbon emissions by investing in carefully selected projects that promote the environment.
Communication with our chauffeurs is through hand-held PDA devices using the most current data communication technology.
Each of our vehicles is fitted with a TrackSave ("black box") global positioning system. The GPS co-ordinates of each vehicle are integrated with our digital mapping software enabling our Operations Team to accurately locate the position and progress of any given vehicle in real time.
As part of our service, we are also able to provide our clients with access to our Vehicle Tracking System at no cost. This enables users to track in real time the progress of vehicles despatched to collect them.
All of our vehicles undergo comprehensive vehicle inspections on a regular basis that are carried out by our in-house fleet management team.
Each vehicle has an on-board computer that allows us to monitor the vehicle's functionality and schedule planned servicing and maintenance.
As part of our Health and Safety Policy, we operate a tyre wear monitoring programme that ensures that tread levels are well above the legal and safety requirement guidelines.
